Welcome to our Penultimate Auction of 2024

To be held on Tuesday 19th November

With our last sale this year being held on 17th December, this November auction will effectively be the last chance to buy at auction and complete your purchase in 2024 before the Seasonal and New Year holidays.

Over the year we have seen bidders opting to attend the auction and bid in person become more and more the successful bidders on the day.  It is only by attending the auction that you get a real feel of the sale, see those who you are competing against and get assistance first hand from our expert team who are on hand to advise and help, especially if this is the first auction you have ever attended.  In fact, with every other national auctioneer still holding online only auctions, our sale is the only one you can attend in-person and experience the real buzz of an auction first hand.

If you have never been to an auction before and, even if you don’t find something in this catalogue, I would encourage you to pop into The Grand Connaught Rooms on the day.  This will help you prepare for a future auction where you might bid.  On the day, we have a selection of finance providers and solicitors/conveyancers that are on hand to give you free advice and help start your future journey of buying at auction. Add to this, the Christmas lights will be on full display in London, so what better excuse do you need to take the time to come to the auction whether you intend to bid or not.

For those who are unable to attend you can still engage and bid at this auction.  Online bidding is available, you will be able to watch a live-stream of the auctioneer on your screen and bid at the click of a mouse but, you must pre-register.  Please do not leave registration too late, you can start your registration as early as you like and in doing so, will insure you are not caught up in a last minute rush of bidder registrations and possibly miss the opportunity to buy your chosen lot.  Anti money laundering regulations mean the government require us to carry out extensive identification checks not only on the bidder, but also the buyer, source of funds and for those purchasing in a company name the checks we are required to carry out by law are even more extensive.  None of this is red tape imposed by us, it is a legal requirement.

If you are bidding either via the internet, via telephone or sending us a proxy bid, please start the process of registration as early as you can. Going through the registration process is not complicated, and you are not obliged to bid but it ensures you can bid if you want to.  But why not avoid all this, bring your ID with you to the auction and come to the venue and bid there!

Now the Budget is out of the way, you can continue buying and selling property without all the weeks of endless speculation of how that event may or may not affect your finances and investment/pension planning.  Regardless of anything, history tells us that property outclasses almost every other form of investment and whilst there may be bumps along the road, in the medium to long term there is no safer place to invest your money.

With this in mind, I am delighted to bring you our largest selection of lots offered at our auctions for several months and yes, we will get through the whole sale in one day! Our sellers and buyers tell us that they would prefer a one day auction even if that means an early start with the sale continuing through to the early evening, I always listen to feedback so that is exactly what we shall do.  It will be a long day, we average in the region of 25 to 30 lots per hour but remember, some lots will be withdrawn or sold before the auction so come early, enjoy the auction atmosphere and experience a real auction rather than an online Ebay style sterile environment offered by others with fake results.

As always, my teams around the country in our various auction centres are on hand to help with all your enquiries in the lead up to the sale.  If attending an open house viewing, please arrive promptly, with the evenings now drawing in our viewing agents are on a tight schedule and can’t hang around for people who arrive late.

We look forward to welcoming you to The Grand Connaught Rooms on Tuesday 19th November with the sale starting at 9am prompt and wish you the best of luck with your bidding!
