Welcome to our first Auction Sale of 2025
Welcome to our first sale of 2025 which kicks off our schedule of 10 major national auctions this year, all to be held at The Grand Connaught Rooms, Great Queen Street, London WC2.
We remain the only National Auctioneer offering great opportunities for you to buy at a live auction venue. Why is this important? The answer is simple, regardless of whether you are buying for investment, development, or a home to live in, a property is most likely to be the largest value purchase you ever make. First, why would you trust your internet connection or even a mobile phone signal at that critical moment when you need to bid. Second, if you are bidding remotely you don’t have access to one of the most experienced teams in the industry to ask those last minute questions, clarify possibly the smallest element of something that comes up at the last minute, or simply seek some guidance and/or reassurance. Finally, it’s great fun!
Literally millions of pounds are spent in our auction room on one day, the atmosphere is electric, exciting and for some, very rewarding, why would you want to miss out on that and critically, see what the other bidders are doing? We utilise the internet for so many things these days and of course, a lot of shopping, but there is a limit! Many people will purchase items online but at a certain price point, want to be in a shop or showroom knowing they have the reassurance of meeting the people they are dealing with.
On Monday 3rd February it is your opportunity to do exactly that with your property purchase, however, if you can’t make it to the venue, you can still bid online or via the phone but, you will need to complete your registration well in advance of the day.
Now is an opportune time to take a brief look back on our sales in 2024, which was an extremely busy year for our business and again, many records were broken. We published some 3,000 lots with the capital value of our sales at £321.5 Million, eclipsing our result from the previous year.
Interestingly, and with reference to my opening remarks, most bidders who were ultimately successful buyers were those who attended the auction in person!
Our sale on Monday 3rd February is a block buster with almost 400 lots. We will get through the entire auction in one day but highly likely the lots towards the end of the sale will be offered very late in the afternoon or possibly into the early evening. It is always the case that lots sell before the auction or, are withdrawn prior so we won’t have so many lots offered on the day. For this reason, it is impossible for us to forecast exactly what time a certain lot may come up but as a very rough guide, we sell some 30 lots or so per hour.
The sale will commence at 9.00am prompt, so please arrive at the venue in plenty of time to complete your on day registration and ID check. It’s always a good idea, especially if you have never been to an auction before, to get to the sale in plenty of time, familiarise yourself with the process by watching a few lots sell before your lot comes up, you are then ideally placed to bid and who knows, you may snag yourself a bargain!
As always, in the lead up to the auction my teams throughout our various auction centres are available to help with all your enquiries. We have 100’s of open house viewings scheduled, and legal packs are available to download free of charge from this website.
We look forward to welcoming you to the sale on Monday 3rd February and wish you the very best of luck with your bidding!
