Introducing our 9th September Auction sale
Welcome to our first sale of our Autumn/Winter season of auctions this year. We will now hold an auction every month through to the end of the year with additional auctions being held through our regional auction centres.
We have already held six Barnard Marcus auction sales this year and, as a group together with our regional auction centres, offered over 1,630 lots with the capital value of sales comfortably topping £175 million so far year to date.
As part of the Connells Group we have unique insight across the entire market:
Our estate agency branches throughout the UK give us the ability as national auctioneers to understand specific local requirements and factors affecting the towns and villages where we have branches. Despite some that may expect a seasonal slow down in the summer, virtually all these branches are reporting good demand with sales being agreed and exchanged at a decent pace.

Our Land and New Homes department are busy negotiating land deals for developers and selling the new houses that have been built. In fact, they are reporting record levels of New Home sales in July alone from all sectors especially, from buyers utilising the government backed Help to Buy scheme.
It would appear that many tenants were holding back their move and waiting for the changes in legislation that removed tenant fees historically charged. Our lettings branches are advising a significant uplift in activity and whilst, maybe not as busy as the sales branches when, for those that remember, joint MIRAS was to be removed, activity and demand is increasing all the time. It is not therefore surprising that we are also receiving reports that indicate clear rental price inflation.
Throughout the country we have a team of mortgage advisors and they are reporting continued high levels of activity from both owner/occupiers and new buy-to-let landlords seeking mortgage facilities and taking advantage of the continued low interest rates available.
All of these factors tell us that there is demand and activity throughout the market despite those that remain on the “Brexit wait-and-see fence”. Of course, once this issue is finally resolved I expect to see a resurgence of even greater activity and so now, while the uncertain sit back, maybe this is the very best time for you to act. Of course any market is driven by supply and demand and when this demand is released based upon the same level of supply, the inevitable price increases will occur. So, consider this as you page through this extensive catalogue. We have motivated sellers that have set realistic prices and I believe this catalogue offers a huge selection in which you will find one lot, if not a few lots, of interest.
As always, my team are here to help assist with all your enquiries in the lead up to the auction and as usual legal documents may be downloaded free of charge from this website.
We look forward to welcoming you to the Grand Connaught Rooms on Monday 9th September and wish you the very best of luck with your bidding.
